Millions of South Africans juggle grants, tax, study funding, job searches, and civic deadlines at once. CheckZA exists to reduce friction: one calm place to see what matters, where to click next, and what changed recently.
Our mission
We help you find trusted public information faster: official links, key dates, and short explainers written in plain language. We prioritise clarity, accessibility on phones, and respect for your time.
Independence
CheckZA is not a government website. We compile and contextualise publicly available guidance and point you to the correct national or provincial entry points. Final eligibility, calculations, and submissions always happen on official systems run by the relevant institution.
How we think about “trust”
Where possible we:
- Prefer primary sources (government gazettes, official programme pages, regulator notices).
- Show last reviewed cues on topic and guide pages so you know when copy was sanity-checked.
- Separate “what we explain here” from “what you must do on the portal” so there is no ambiguity.
Institutions change rules with short notice. If you spot something outdated, please tell us—we appreciate the nudge.
Advertising
Running a broad utility has hosting and editorial cost. We may show advertising in clearly marked spaces. Ads do not influence which official links we surface; programme rules come from the source, not from sponsors.
Privacy
We aim for a light footprint—see our privacy policy for details on cookies, analytics, and your POPIA-related rights.
